Orography

The Canary Islands would be considered as volcanic mountains which emerge from the ocean's ground. In relation to the island's surface, they get considerable heights. Tenerife has got the highest point of Spain. This makes the island territories get pronounced slopes. You can rise substantial heights moving just a few miles.

Along millions of years erosive and constructive periods have coexisted, as in time as in space. This originated territories with rugged orography, where deep ravines alternate with volcanic mountains with unerosionated relief. The ancient potatoes have been grown traditionally in areas with the greatest slopes, for what was needed to build the land with terraces, making possible the crops.
